EWR Associates, continuing projects for Hospital Sisters Health Systems and Medical Group

By MELISSA MESKE
P14 EWR    Hospital Sisters Health System continues working with EWR Associates, Inc. as they work together to design facilities with future needs in mind.
EWR is providing continuing “indefinite delivery, indefinite quality” (IDIQ)  services for HSHS facilities in southern Illinois as well as for its Medical Group facilities throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.
The firm works for both the HSHS hospital system as well as for the HSHS Medical Group, an affiliate of private physicians.
Bill Reichert, EWR president, said, “The HSHS/EWR relationship that has developed is a most important one to us, and one which is exemplary of many of which we have enjoyed in our firm’s 30-year existence. Like the YMCA of Southwest Illinois, who has engaged our firm as its architect for over 15 years and 20 projects, our repeat engagement by HSHS over the past 10 years on 17 projects, large and small, attest to our quality service delivery to our clients and friends.”
Currently EWR is creating a new set of environmental standards for the design and construction of HSHS Medical Group medical office buildings, formalizing the building design and branding requirements for all Medical Group facilities owned or leased throughout their Illinois and Wisconsin territory. This is being done in conjunction with HSHS Medical Group’s member physicians and its 13 affiliated hospitals. This project will define the physical environment, size, and design elements used in all HSHS facilities while also conjoining with other corporate branding standards.
EWR has provided design services over the past few years for HSHS’ Illinois facilities in Columbia, Belleville, Fairview Heights, Mascoutah, O’Fallon and Shiloh as well as for their Eau Claire, Wis., site. These facilities include multi-practice medical buildings, diagnostic facilities, and treatment facilities ranging from 5,000 square feet upward to 50,000 square feet. They also include hospital renovation projects such as the new Wound Care Center in Belleville at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Other recently completed projects in EWR’s portfolio include an MRI expansion at the O’Fallon Medical Office Building on North Greenmount Road, renovation of a former retail store into a new family practice in Fairview, and a new 7,000-square-foot facility for a family and sports medicine practice in Shiloh as a part of the Tamar office complex.
